Put your feet up

Jan Dodd brought me some just laid eggs from her South London hens when she popped into the centre yesterday.  She came to pick up the frame for an unusual upholstered footstool project. I have asked her to make an ‘exposed’ sample of what will be going on under the final fabric of everyone’s footstool that they will make and take home on her new course starting here in June.

We talked of  the ethical issues of using pigs hair, web stretchers, magnetic hammers and the origins of the upholstery tool called a ‘regulator’. Upholstery is a great way of connecting with our past.

This is going to be a fast paced set of four Sunday morning classes with plenty of help for absolute beginners. We can dip into our gorgeous selection of top fabrics if anyone doesn’t bring their own.

And the hen’s eggs were delicious.
