Join us for a one day workshop devoted to to being creative and experimental with machine embroidery.

Learn from Deborah Andrews, Artist and Illustrator, specializing in embroidered illustration in her own practice.

Even if you have never used a sewing machine before, with Deborah’s support and encouragement you will soon be taking home a piece of machine embroidery that you can frame or hang as a piece of art work to admire.

Alternatively, you can convert it into a cushion or footstool cover in one of our soft furnishings or upholstery workshops.

Using a palette of inspiring textiles and coloured threads, you will learn how to control an ordinary sewing machine by guiding the sewing foot to produce stitches that patch, embroider and script under your guidance. We supply coloured threads, an embroidery hoop, scraps of fabric and fire retardant calico as your surface.. You can bring your own fabric if you wish and any sketches and ideas you have for a project.
