Course Description
A great way to combine woodwork and music for multi-creative types.
In this one day workshop with professional woodcarver and multi instrumental musician Jon Hall, you will learn how to build your own cigar box guitar that you can adapt to an electric or acoustic style.
Measure and cut the neck of the guitar from hardwood to fit the box, install the tuners, calculate the positions and cut the frets to create a unique and fun musical instrument. Jon can help you tune the guitar if you wish.
We supply all the parts, including the cigar box, but if you have a hankering for a Havana, you can bring your own. The use of all tools is included.
Jon Hall
Jon is a City and Guild trained wood carver. He works as a professional high end maker, restorer and gilder and shares his expertise in a patient and playful manner. Jon may share access to his humorous and original Youtube channel.
General Information

Refreshments
Coffee, tea and biscuits are included in the course fee, but you will need to bring lunch with you or visit a nearby venue to purchase food.
Access
If you have any specific access or special needs, please contact us confidentially in advance by email info@thegoodlifecentre.co.uk. There is a small step to the entrance, and the toilet is on the ground floor.
All sewing workshops and occasionally lampshade making, tassel making and bookbinding workshops are located on the second floor. There is no lift access.
