A two-day introduction to carpentry where you make your own wood stool, and take it home with you to be admired by friends and family.
By popular demand – a content packed two-day basic carpentry woodwork course spread over two weekends – open to all levels. Beginners will be given plenty of help and more experienced students may work at their own pace.
If your knowledge of woodwork is a feint but fond memory of CDT or carpentry at school, you are in the right place.
Experienced carpenter, Andy Nicholl will guide a small group through design and making of an elegant pine stool using traditional hand tools.
Instead of a ‘kit’ class, in these sessions you will select and cut all your own materials and be taught life long skills along the way.
It will be your choice of seat and your choice of height. There will be plenty of help and guidance and plenty of time to practice sharpening and maintaining tools. There will additional workshop time available if you need to work slowly. The workshop focuses on jointing wood with dowels, using and caring for a plane and chisel, using spokeshaves and hand drilling with augers. Intrigued? Come and find out more.

All personal protection, use of tools and materials are included.
This course is run over two Saturdays on 10th/17th November from 10:00am – 5:00pm.
