For those of you who feel able to hand stitch a basic lined curtain in our ‘Curtain making’ workshop, this is a day to advance your abilities by learning the techniques of different headings, cosy fleece interlining and hand pleating. The process also includes learning hand stitching where needed.
During the workshop you will make a sample curtain from a one metre drop of fabric 14ocm wide. You will learn how to measure up for size, how to work out where the hand pleats can be sewn.
This workshop is more suited to people who have used a sewing machine and want to produce professional quality window treatments.
Experienced tutor Jan Dodd will show how steel rings can be inserted to fit the curtain onto a pole show you how to make an interlined curtain sample to take home with pride.
The Goodlife Centre has a selection of suitable fabrics for you to use to practice.
All personal protection, use of machines, tools and materials are included.
