Join us for three relaxing evenings learning the traditional art of English Paper Piecing.
This versatile pastime, slow stitched by hand, is wonderfully portable and can be done almost anywhere!
Learn how to make honeycomb shapes by wrapping fabric around paper templates and then join them together with careful hand stitching to make a key ring… or a delicate bowl, a mug rug, a cushion, a tote bag… it’s up to you.
Explore how this slow, meditative, relaxing way to sew without a sewing machine can transform your ‘Me time’. But be careful. It’s quite addictive.
Enjoy hand sewing with beautiful fabrics and traditional techniques. No previous experience required. All materials provided. We have bright work lights to assist you and suggest you bring any magnifying glasses you use for close work.
Class numbers are limited to 8, so early booking is advised.
These workshops will be led by Alice Findlay, an experienced stitcher and member of the London Modern Quilt Guild. Alice has compiled a tin of essential supplies you can purchase during the workshops, so you can carry on your new hobby at home, on the train… anywhere.
