Now you have a chance to dig in and make your own. This workshop introduces the modern tools and methods to create mosaic patterns using glass and ceramic tile, personal mementoes and seashore. Tiles, adhesives and grout will all be provided and there will be time to make a special creation to take home. Apply tiles to supplied wooden boards, grout with a choice of colours and take home unique yet useful artworks.
Honour those quirky keepsakes you can’t let go. In this workshop, you will have an opportunity to curate, fabricate and annotate your own personal museum. Most of us have held onto some valueless items that are beyond value. These life souvenirs lurk in dark drawers, rattle in tins, gather dust on forgotten shelves and languish between book pages. By gathering a few similar size items and displaying them in a specially made case, we can show the world our unique take on our memories and the beginnings of our own ‘Museum Collection’.
Bring small personal items to arrange and affix inside a bespoke mini coloured card and wood cabinet. Personalized decorations and annotations can be added and a named plaque will complete a unique memento to take home. All tools and basic materials provided at each of our workshops.
Glorious tassels can make anything look more luxurious – from a dressing gown cord to a chair tie back or even a rather fabulously frivolous keyring. In this workshop, there will be time to make several tassels of different size and materials.
Choose your own colours and yarn or beads from the selection at the centre.
